\nHi! We’re Aly \uff06 AJ, a band from California with a new album out now called ‘a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun’. This was the record we were born to make, and we’re so excited to finally share it with you all.<\/p>\n

\nQ:<\/strong> Hi! 6 friends and I are planning to fly to LA to see you guys!! We\u2019re insanely excited. My question is: what are you most excited for fans to experience on tour?
\nA:<\/strong> We just can’t wait to experience live music again with our fans. There’s nothing like that feeling when we hop on stage and strum that first chord. Makes me emotional just thinking of it

\nQ:<\/strong> Hi! Love the new album. It’s been really rewarding as a fan watching you guys finally reach this milestone independently after so many years. I’m really interested in how you guys divied up the vocal parts on this record and how you’ve taken control of that aspect. Did choosing who sang certain parts of each song come naturally and were there ever any moments you had trouble deciding?
\nA:<\/strong> Thank you. We ended up falling hard for the demo vocals and we decided to honor who sang what at the time it was written. We just tried to be really thoughtful about what part sounded best on who’s voice.

\nQ:<\/strong> Amazing job on the new album!!! I have been a huge fan since the beginning. I can\u2019t wait to see you out on tour and hopefully meet you again! So excited for the Ace Theatre virtual show tonight too. Other than Potential Breakup Song, what is a song not on this new album that you know you\u2019ll for sure perform on your upcoming tour? Love you!

\nA:<\/strong> Re connecting with our old bass player after 14 years!

\nQ:<\/strong> Hello from Panama! I really love this album’s title, but I wonder… were there more options you came up with? If so, could you please name a few of them? Just curious
\nA:<\/strong> Not many choices had been floating around. We considered “Paradise” or “Pretty Places” and it just didn’t seem right

\nQ:<\/strong> Any songs that didn\u2019t make the cut for the album and will we maybe hear some if so at concerts or in the future? -Erika
\nA:<\/strong> There are 4 that we love that didn’t make the cut!

\nA:<\/strong> Truly, all of them. We will most likely start the off with “Pretty Places” (our personal favorite)

\nQ:<\/strong> Hey guys! I’ve had the album on REPEAT since it came out – it’s phenomenal! What was your approach to making this album? Did you know what you wanted when you started writing or did it just all happen?
\nA:<\/strong> We promised each other we’d be as authentic as possible and write from our gut. No story was off the table. Our producer very much helped us with tapping into this sound. West coast vibes

\nQ:<\/strong> You guys have absolutely nail it when it comes to vinyls. I see there is a 7″ vinyl included in the VIP packages for the tour… any hint as to whats on it?

\nA:<\/strong> We’re sisters so we met at home

\nA:<\/strong> We just felt that this “mantra” represented these 12 tracks the best. Our own personal run on sentence

\nQ:<\/strong> Yay! I’m loving the new album the direction for this album is pretty different from your last EPs I feel like it’s more to your roots live musicians in studio laying down stuff. Is that what you were going for with this new album?

\nA:<\/strong> You’ll see. It all came out of a very specific incident back in May of 2020<\/em>

\nA:<\/strong> This was not easy. We took 2 days orienting each track until we found the right sequencing based on sonics and lyrical meaning

\nA:<\/strong> Confronting the old you and breaking away from old habits
